Treasure Hat

I bought some Red Heart Boutique Treasure yarn yesterday to make a hat for my mom. I couldn't find any pattern I liked so I kind of winged it and it turned out gorgeous. The yarn is great to work with and has a nice squishy feel to it and I love the way the color transitions. I'm giving her the hat tonight and can't wait for her to wear it :)

Family in Town

I have a busy few weeks coming up and still haven't had time to take pics of all I've been crocheting but I have a couple that I can go ahead and post for now til I have time to take good ones with my real camera.
This is a little backpack I made for my two year old daughter who is constantly trying to wear her big brothers backpack around the house. I made it up as I went along but plan to write my first pattern with it because it turned out really cute. Just have some changes to make to get it just right.
I made these for a family friend as a quick gift. I used a free pattern that I found on ravelry. They worked up super fast. The pattern calls for color changes every row but I just used three colors and carried them up the inside. The link to these lovely fingerless gloves is: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/colorful-stripey-fingerless-mitts

This is the hat I made the other day an I did a basic double crochet scarf to go with it.
And last one I have is a braided headband. The link for this pattern is: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/outfitters-braided-headband
It's done in Tunisian crochet which is still new for me and was a great beginner project for it.
So this is what I have for now. I bought a manican head at michael's to take better pictures of hats and can't wait to finally use it. My baby brother is here visiting from Alaska so I'm off to go spend time with him. Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

Hat!

had a vision in my head of a hat I wanted to make my son but it took a while to get it right. I was trying to get fancy but I ended up just doing a basic double crochet beanie with a ribbed brim. It looks so cute on him and he was willing to model so I could snap a picture :)

Can't stop...

Ever since I did this last night I've been thinking non stop about what to do next. It's overwhelming but I'm trying to get my brain to cooperate. I started a blog, and I've been thinking and thinking about what direction to take this in and I decided for now it's going to be about building a crochet business from start to finish. I will also share some projects I'm working on but I think it'll be fun to share the process with you. Stay tuned for more :)

Hi!

Hello! Welcome to my crochet blog. This is a little new for me and I've been debating it for a while now but I've finally done it. I'm not exactly sure where this blog is going to be taking me but I sure am excited about embarking on this new journey. I suppose I will start with a few little tidbits about myself before I dive into the crochet posts (I'm still not even sure where to begin with that). I'm a list person so I'm going to make a list of 5 things about myself.
1. My name is Terry
2. I'm 25
3. I married an amazing man and have two young ones
4. Blogging scares me
5. Crochet makes me happy

So....yeah. There it is. I feel really weird talking about myself. I'm an awkward person and it feels odd to sit here and write about myself and use the word "I" so much. If there's time later I will do some more with the blog but for now there is a heaping mountain of clothes that need folding. Bye!
